The assignment

Our client is a fast-growing animal health company in Greece. It manufactures veterinary products under GMP, for its own portfolio and as a contract manufacturer (CMO) for third parties. The company has doubled in size every year since 2024 and aims to more than double its workforce again in 2027.

Compliance and testing are in good shape and the procedures are robust. The challenge now is organisational: how to set up and run a Quality department of around 30 people (QA and QC) that keeps pace with growth, a large number of SKUs, frequent changes and tech transfers. You advise the CEO directly.

Your tasks

• Get to know the QA/QC organisation, its workload and ways of working during an on-site visit of 2–3 days in Greece;
• Share how comparable (CMO) manufacturers organise their Quality function: structure, sub-departments, procedures and automation;
• Advise on a future-proof set-up of QA/QC, including sub-departments and responsibilities;
• Identify where the team's work can be simplified, standardised or automated;
• Act as sparring partner to the CEO on how to drive and embed the change in the organisation.

What you deliver

• A clear picture of how comparable companies organise and automate Quality, and what this means for the client;
• A proposal for the future organisation of QA/QC, including sub-departments and responsibilities;
• Concrete recommendations that make daily work in the Quality team easier and more efficient;
• A practical change approach for the CEO: priorities, sequence and how to bring the team along.

Your profile

In order to be successful we believe you are a (close) match to the following profile:

• Senior Quality leader (e.g. Head of Quality, QA/QC Director, Site Quality Head) with a background in life sciences and GMP manufacturing;
• Hands-on experience in (re)organising and modernising QA/QC departments, including automation of quality processes;
• Preferably experience in CMO manufacturing, or in another environment with many SKUs, frequent changes and tech transfers;
• Strong in change management: you know how to move an organisation, not only how the quality system works;
• An experienced sparring partner for C-level: pragmatic, people-oriented and with an eye for the team's daily reality;
• Fluent in English and available for an on-site visit in Greece.

Scope

• Advisory role for a limited number of days over several months;
• Starts with an on-site visit of 2–3 days in Greece; after that the work is remote;
• Direct contact with the CEO.
